I thought the concept of this song was kind of like the song Alone with the Sea, by Hurt. It’s about a man who went off to sea, and he remembers his lover from the past. He no longer sees or feels beauty in the world without her.
This song seems similar, describing a dying world. Wine red as in blood, dead birds… the arrow-pierced neck insinuating betrayed trust. Without love, they no longer see beauty in the world. Y’know? That’s what I think, anyway. = 3=
