@smithyloveskerry Tim grew up in Perth with his Australian family.
The sheer beauty of the lyrics, piano playing and delivery of both make this song what it is. I love it.
@smithyloveskerry Well, if you would read the rest of that, you would see he’s from Australia. Here, I’ll even paste it for you. Timothy David Minchin [2] (born 7 October 1975 in Northampton, UK[1]) is an Australian comedian, actor, musician, and skeptic
@smithyloveskerry wikipedia? also says, nationality – Australian. he also always points out that he is australian
The song is beautiful and it makes my eyes water every time, but no matter how close to home it hits me, reading the comments and seeing how deeply this song touches other people makes the tears flow like no other
I can’t tell if it’s just sweat or if he had a genuine tear rolling down his face at the end x Tim you are God x x x x x
This got me too.
@TheLeadster he comes from the uk. Timothy David Minchin [2] (born 7 October 1975 in Northampton, UK[1])
i love tim he’s such a great bloke.
My family are on the other side of the world and listening to this song makes me think of family Christmas’s in the warm summer sun, and how much I miss them. White Christmas’s are all very well and good, but I would rather be with mum and dad, brothers and sister.
Man, I love you Tim.
The only “Christmas” I care about. But I like the Pope Song better

Definitely the most beautiful and meaningful song I’ve ever heard. You’re the best Tim, thanks for the years of fantastic songs.
first time i listened 2 this i cryed a lil bit nd im 13 lolz beautiful song
I’m glad I’m not the only one who cried- first time I heard this was when I saw him live, and I cried then, which was embarrassing. One of my favorite songs ever
I personally think that this song is one of the most beautiful songs ever created, partially because the lyrics aren’t wrapped in metaphor, he’s just saying exactly what he means. And it’s perfect.
his voice reminds me of michael stype from REM
COMIN TO SEE YOU IN TORONTO! dont let me down tim!
I only really discovered Tim yesterday – somebody lent me a DVD. I thought I’d have a look and see what came up on Youtube. This did, and I thought, “wait, what? I’ve heard that before…”
And now I’m sitting here with tears rolling down my face. Beautiful song, and a real talent. I guess you could say I’m a convert.
May you drink white wine in the sun for years to come.
I don’t cry. I feel hollow inside now after reading these comments
@LightningNC and Rolf…..?
@TheLeadster
Over Steve Irwin? That’s heavy stuff.
well I don’t agre with everything he says, but he’s funny and that song was actually quite beautiful, what’s with his hair though? it looks like it wants to be dreads, but can’t quite make it
