I can’t pull the cork out of the bottle with this. I’ll stick with my other openers.

I must be missing something; everyone loves this because it’s so easy to use. Not my experience at all. First, I can’t get the foil cutter off. Then, I find it hard to start the cork without it veering to the side. And, then I find it difficult to turn the opener while keeping the bottle from moving. A third hand would probably help. I have a high regard for Oxo products except wine openers. The Oxo’s rabbit ear opener is also a terrible product.

I’ve used this wine opener a few times, and I really like it. It’s easy to operate–you just start turning the knob, and keep turning until the cork comes up–and has a pleasing ergonomic design. To remove the cork, just turn in the opposite direction.

I like that it has a slightly sci-fi look–you could picture Captain Picard whipping this out at a diplomatic reception on 10-Forward when uncorking a bottle of his Chateau Picard, but the black/stainless look will fit in with most contemporary-looking kitchens. It is neutral enough, though, not to contrast with more traditional settings.

There’s really not too much else to say: it does the job and looks good. For the cost and ease of operation, I don’t think you can do much better.

After having tried many types of corkscrews, and experienced broken metal screws, broken corks, and malfunctions on artificial corks, I’d say I’ve finally found the best all around corkscrew. So easy to use, so far has worked every time, and it’s fast. Also, the foil cutter is top notch. Going to buy a second one for the parents.

OMG! I cannot say enough about this wine opener. I cant believe there are only 4 reviews on this magical prodect but then again maybe most people are as excited by wine the way I am. I was hesitant to spend the money with out ever handling the opener but after looking at consumer reports reviews and finding a good deal on ebay I went for it. i couldnt be more happy, i giggle like a school girl whenever using it. It comes with this super cool and easy to use foil cutter hidden in the top half. The opener itself you just pop it over the top, un cork it and then the cork comes out easily when you turn it the opposite way. 123 EASY!
