I bought this product around Christmas 2007 – the unit just broke – not even 6 months old!! I have very decent wines and champagnes ruined as this unit stopped working. If you read the Danby warranty, ruined wines are not covered. Paying over $ 300.00 for unit that worked no more than 6 months is an absolute disgrace. Danby probably spent no more than

$ 30.00 to make this junk in China – once again another piece of junk from China. Wine needs long term storage – otherwise, why buy a wine refrigerator? – I guess Danby feels putting out a junk product lasting 6 months is quality. If you want to ruin some good wines and champagnes, please buy this product. I contacted Danby representatives and was treated very rudely – they could care less. Save your money!! Forced to give one star by AMazon but this is truly a 0 star.

Just purchased this from a local store. Looked great, very stylish. Plugged it in at home and set the two temperature zones. The problem being-the temperature in the fridge just kept going up! Checked the button and it did save the two temperatures I chose but after one day both areas were up to over 70 degrees! Have had it one day and will be returning it tonight.

Did not cool at all-obviously something fundamental in it is broken. Having read other negative reviews I will not buy another one.

We’ve had very good luck with our unit. We purchased it about 4 years ago and have NEVER had any problems. We don’t find it noisy at all. Yes the bottom shelves are a little short so you aren’t able to fill them. Realistically it will hold about 24-26 bottles. We love the dual-zones and the price was was affordable. I had to write this review because of all the negative ones I read. We just purchaced another for our vacation home but have not installed it yet. We’ll see what happens with that one.

I bought this cooler 18 months ago and it has stopped cooling. I tried to call Danby, but even though they had my serial number, they could not guarantee that they would cover the cost to fix it. I had to find my own repair shop as the repair shops Danby referred to me did not cover my refrigerator. I was told it would cost almost $300 to fix, not worth it.

The lower two shelves are shorter than the others, this is due to the design and placement of the motor and refrigeration unit. This means that the unit will never be able to hold 30 bottles. The standard size bottle of wine holds 750ml, which means they are all displace the same space, although in different dimensions. Any bottle short enough to fit in the lower shelves will be too wide to fit 5 across, any thin enough to fit 5 across will be too long. It only has 6 shelves, which means to fit 30 you must get 5 bottles on each shelf, and that won’t happen.

In addition I was really disappointed that the dual zones have a programmable range of only 4 degrees (6-10c in the lower section and 10-14c in the upper section) and the zones are not interchangeable. As I own more reds than whites, I had planned to use the larger section for my reds. However, this is more an inconvenient lack of a feature, and not nearly as important as the blatant design flaw/false advertising of it’s capacity, and therefore it’s function.

I only hope it doesn’t fail after a week like so many others, and am glad I got the 3 year extended warranty from RC Willey. The only reason I am not returning it is because it would cost me $55 to have them pick it up, and I would have to take another half day off work to do that. It will do well enough until I get my annual bonus and get a better and larger unit and this one will go on Craigslist.

Trust me, buy something else, unless you want a 24-26 bottle unit and pray you get at least 8 short fat bottles to put on the bottom shelves.
