How to Buy a Wine for a Friend Who Lives in Indiana?

by Sommelier on May 18, 2010

I'm in Mexico and i want to give a friend a bottle of wine as a gift, but wine laws in Indiana prohibit wine shipping to the state. What would yo reccomend? a gift certificate? but where? Thanks!

If you’re not set on the wine idea, http://www.proflowers.com has some great gifts and gift baskets at very reasonable prices.

Indiana has several good wineries, Oliver in Bloomington IN, one of my favorites. Research Indiana wineries, pick a good bottle, call the local liquor store in the town your friend lives, they can order what you need and your friend can pick up.

Order wine from a winery and have them ship it to your friend. Usually the bigger wineries carry the license to ship out of state. If not then find a winery in Indiana! Wineries are popping up everywhere.

Cheers!
