I've been reading about the anti-aging benefits of having a glass of red wine everyday but haven't found any suggestions as to what type of red wine is best to drink. I've read that wines high in tannins and wines made from muscadine grapes are better, but does anyone know which type of wines have high tannic value or use muscadine grapes? Funny how so many health articles talk about "red wine" without specifying the type.

I want make wine as a hobby and normally use an empty wine bottle for fermentation but how can I siphone the wine out without distrurbing the waste of the yeast?

My girlfriends and I are going to have a girls night in and probably watch movies, and I want to buy some wine to bring over. One of my favorite wines in Lambrossco..I dont like the really acidty taste one. Is there a really good wine that wont cost an arm and a leg when eating like snack food?

I just bought a 2004 Novelty Hill Merlot from Columbia Valley.

~harmonious blend of black cherry, raspberry, and mocha flavors comebined with undercurrent of inviting oak.~

I searched their web site wanting to learn more about it, but they only have different wines. Either Merlots from different years, or from a different grape valley. How come? Is my wine rare? How come the one I bought isn't on there?

I love pasta with white wine sauce and want to attempt to cook it at home for my husband. I just am completely clueless about wines in general. So if any one has a recipe for a good/cheap white wine sauce or can recommend the correct wine to use it would be very much appreciated.
Also, I don't drink wine so I have no idea what to expect about wine flavors. Plus I don't have the funds to buy a couple different kinds just to try them out. So, any recipes for white wine sauces?

we have taylor port wine (or something like that) in our fridge, and it says its dessert wine.
whats the difference in, uh not dessert wine, and that.

Yesterday at a friends house i put a glass of wine on a nice wooden table and it left a circular mark where the glass stood. It was white wine, but some of it must have gotten on the bottom of the glass and stained the table. It is a really nice table, so i feel horrible for ruining it, is there anything i can buy at the store to clean it? The wood is dark color, maybe cherry or something like that. We tried using water and rubbing it, helped just a bit, but the spot where the wine stood for a few hours is still very visible. Please help, thanks.

Considering the length of time it takes for a fine wine to age,what do wine companies do for the first year,two,three,after they begin?Do they just operate in debt until their wine is ready for the market?The same question for other beverages which require such time to ferment.
So how did the old (presently established) wine makers make a go of it when they first began?How did they obtain the money to invest,just to sit back and wait several years for their product to age before they began selling it?

How much and of which variety of red wine will best promote the beneficial properties (resveratrol) of red wine?
I believe one glass of wine = 5 ounces.
And are any of these characteristics diminished in a cheaper wine?

I know wine-tasters often take a gentle sniff of the wine they're drinking before they actually taste it. I've heard of wine described as having a "nutty nose." How do nose and aroma actually differ?

I'm not a fan of drinking wine, but I enjoy the flavor it adds to dishes when it is used in the cooking process. I'm planning on making a chicken dish with swiss cheese for dinner tonight and would like to substitute a dry white wine for the water my recipe calls for. I have this great recipe for Apple Pie Wine using 180 proof grain alcohol. Can I bottle this and consider it preserved? How much alcohol should I use to preserve this wine?
Wine has a percentage of alcohol. Is this what keeps it from spoiling?
I know how to make wine. And have made a few bottles over the years. I really like the recipe I have for Apple Pie "Wine." And I want to bottle it instead of keeping it in the refrigerator. So my question would really be with 10% alcohol by volume in sanatized bottles and corks, will it keep.
