To Use the Pinzon Penguin Wine Opener: 1. The sleek Penguin is designed to effortlessly remove a wine bottle cork. 2. Raise the lever and clamp the Penguin down over the neck of the bottle. 3. Grasp the rubberized inserts securely with one hand to hold the bottle steady. 4. Use the other hand to lower and then raise the lever in one smooth motion. (Although you cant see it, the corkscrew enters and pulls out the cork.) 5. With the lever up, lift the Penguin off the bottle. The cork will be inside the Penguin. 6. Lower and raise the lever again, and voila! The cork slides off the corkscrew. Note: The Penguin can be used to open wines bottled with regular corks, but careful use is advised when opening bottles with synthetic corks.To Use the Pinzon Penguin Stopper: * The stopper preserves for days on end the bouquet and flavor of a partially consumed bottle of wine. * Plastic ridges on the stopper collar help provide an airtight seal.To Replace a Cork Screw on the Pinzon Penguin Opener: * Raise the lever and find the largest of three Philips screws in the body of the Penguin. * Unscrew the largest Philips screw to release the cork screw. * Pull out the Penguin screw and insert the replacement into underneath the lever. Then, re-insert and screw in the Philips screw where it was removed from.Cleaning Instructions: * Wipe clean with a damp towel and let air dry. Do not put into dishwasher.

 Stylish, highly efficient opener November 20, 2008
Sorry Rabbit, you're cute but we love our new Penguin even more.br /The Pinzon Penguin gets points for being strikingly stylish right out of the box. But the best thing about it is that it opens bottles easily and quickly and, unlike some other openers, it doesn't take long to get the hang of it. Once you do, it's a great conversation generator at dinner parties and everybody wants to take a turn trying it out. It also doesn't require any costly cartridges and the gift set includes a foil cutter, an airtight stopper and a replacement corkscrew. And at Amazon prices, it makes for an affordable host/hostess gift that's bound to impress.
 Clever Design with a Major Drawback November 19, 2008
This wine opener has a clever design, and is bigger than it looks in the product description pictures. It works by turning an internal corkscrew into the cork as the lever is pressed downward, then it pulls the cork out when you raise the lever. The lever is long so that you get enough leverage to make this easy. Here's a simple pro and con description:br /PRO- I loved the foil cutter; it works really wellbr /CON- Unfortunately, this device is not to be used on synthetic corks (the instructions warn not to) so this opener is only good for use on bottles with real corks. br /As more and more wine labels change over to synthetic corks, this device is destined to being a large paperweight. Too bad, because it has great looks and the concept makes cork pulling a breeze, if you have the right kind of cork.
Overall as a kit very nice. Stylish design...but not as modern as it might seem October 29, 2008

In general a good cork screw. A little to fancy for its own good.br /accessories might impress your friends...but..go with an electric version if you can find one....it's the 21st Century.

Let me open by admitting that I'm addicted to the Amazon Pinzon products - they are usually priced much lower than any retail equivalent, and I've yet to be let down by anything I've purchased from the lineup. br /br /The wine opener gift set is no exception. br /br /The entire set is boxed in a lovely package, and looks extremely classy. Inside the box is the Penguin wine opener, a spare corkscrew, a foil cutter and a bottle sealer. br /br /The Penguin opener is super simple to use; pop it on top of the bottle crank the handle, and you are done. It looks great, and in the 5 bottles I opened I have not broken a single cork. br /br /Even the little foil cutter is a grade above the usual things; it has 2 small rotating cutting blades inside and is very easy to use. br /br /The entire package is just brilliant, and at just $30 it's a true bargain.br /br /DO NOT BUY ONE - BUY TWO! If you plan to order one as a gift, you'll regret not getting yourself one right away. I'm serious; this is just a great looking product. I'm planning to purchase 2 more just to keep in the house if I need a last minute gift for anyone.

This is an excellent wine opener, offering great value for the price.br /br /Sure, we can all buy the 4$ wine opener from the local grocery, but, when it comes down to it- if you're drinking nice wine, you want a nice wine opener (if only for aesthetic purposes).br /br /This opener serves both needs- aesthetic and functional.
