Product Description Serve your favorite Cabernet, Merlot, Bordeaux or red wine in these glasses. They come in a set of six and are made of Tritan crystal that is resistant to chipping and breaking - you won't even have to worry about your clumsiest guest!Schott Zwiesel (a brand of Zwiesel Kristallglas, AG) has a 130 year history of innovation and success, including such break through developments as the first machine made stemware and the first lead-free crystal glass. With the introduction of the proprietary Tritan?? Crystal technique (the result of special additives such as titanium with a unique tempering process) Zwiesel has once again revolutionized the industry. Rigorous laboratory testing proves the brilliance, dishwasher safety, and break resistance of Tritan. Highly resistant to chipping and breaking even at its most sensitive areas - the rim and at the points where the stem joins the bowl and the foot. The glasses stand up to daily use and thousands of cycles in your dishwasher, without any blemishes or loss of brilliance.

Big, Bold Beautiful May 11, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
My husband absolutely LOVES these wine glasses. (These will be a Father's Day gift for him, and he will be elated!) We used them 2 to 3 times a week for the last couple of years. Though I sometimes prefer a smaller glass, he loves that these are very big - the biggest wine glasses I've ever seen. They are also beautiful, and they make the perfect chime for toasting.br /br /I am ordering our SECOND order of these wine glasses. My husband and I bought four of them a couple of years ago, and the last one finally broke in the dishwasher recently. I've always thought of ALL wine glasses as somewhat fragile and was surprised to read the reviews of those that thought these were overly fragile and also of those that seemed to think they were abnormally durable. I would say they are in between. We have lost 4 of them in 2 years, but my husband isn't exactly what you would call coordinated. (When we were dating, my sister teased me that I would have to register only for Tupperware if we got married. "No fine china for you.") Considering my husband (bless his heart), 4 wine glasses in 2 years is VERY good! Also, considering his clumsiness, the fact that I am willing to invest in an item that is even somewhat breakable shows how much he really does love them. (We DIDN'T register for even one fine china piece!)
Fantastic Glass April 19, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I have been using these glasses for years and while they are not unbreakable, they are so much stronger than anything else of this quality. And this quality is quite high. I use these for parties and gatherings and have only lost 1 or 2 after thousands of uses, I can not say that about the competition's glasswear, which breaks if you sneeze on it. Highly recommended.
Shocked how easily this broke March 8, 2008 0 out of 3 found this review helpful
Two weeks ago we bought two of these glasses because our cat has taken to knocking stemware over for kicks. The kitty didn't happen to get hold of this one, so I can't say if it's catproof, but dig this:br /br /The empty glass was knocked off of a 2" high table and fell onto thick carpet. As it fell, the bowl rolled towards the metal table leg and struck it with diminishing force. Where the leg touched the glass, the bowl cracked in a zigzag pattern, but did not shatter. So plus one star for not leaving glass everywhere, but otherwise, not impressed.
Before you buy SZ Tritan... January 27, 2008 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
I am surprised to read the 5 star reviews. My experience was much different. br /br /I bought a set of 6 Bordeaux and a set of 6 Pino SZ Tritan glasses 18 months ago. For the last 6 months, of the dozen, I have only two surviving Pino glasses. br /br /The first two broke in my dishwasher (an Asko - which has never broken anything before) and the other 8 broke in our bare hands while gently washing them. Of course ofter the first one or two broke in our (bare) hands while washing, we were certainly more careful knowing that they were way more fragile than SZ's claims of extra durability, much less, dishwash-ability. Least you think us clumsy dolts with no experience with wine galsses, we have been wine enthusiasts for over 20 years with a stellar record of preserving our stemware.br /br /I was also surprised that my fellow reviewers faulted Riedel for breakage. I have my original set of Riedel stemware from over 10 years ago. While I feel a bit out of sync with other reviewers, I wanted to warn you of my really bad experience with SZ Tritan stemware to save you my disapointment and waste of money. While there may not be better looking, balanced, or more elegant stemware on the market, for the 2 glasses remaining from two sets of 6 that I bought, I could have bought two Riedel Sommelier glasses or a dozen Spiegelau glasses. br /br /Do yourself a favor and choose other glasses.
Not unbreakable, but better than Riedel October 22, 2007 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
Compared to the ultra-breakable Riedels, these glasses are truly great. We "clanged" them side to side and they resonate like a tuning fork. We've had them fall (full of wine) on their side with no breaks. Only broke one that caught an edge. No scratches in nearly 8 months of nightly use!
