Europe's Riedel Crystal is the world's premier manufacturer of wine glasses. Riedel's Wine series of glasses is among the company's machine-blown lead-free offerings and offers a decorative departure from other simpler styles. These Cabernet/Bordeaux glasses each have a slender, four-edged stem and three delicate ridges that encircle the base and the top of the stem and catch the light to make a beautiful presentation on a holiday table. The bowl shape follows the philosophy of Riedel's Vinum line of glasses, where each glass is uniquely developed for each type of wine. The glasses in this set of eight were specifically shaped to serve red wines, such as Bordeaux, Cabernet Sauvignon, Red Meritage, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Rioja Sangiovese, Tempranillo, and Brunello di Montalcino. I use only Riedel stemware for my wine, I own 6 different Riedel varietal stemware. Riedel stemware makes a wonderful gift to give someone.
 Riedel may make uglier glasses June 6, 2005

But you'll have to search hard to find them. They should simply cut the stems off and make them into "0" glasses. Whatever the virtues of the 'light-catching' stems, they're lost on me! Try the Ouverture series.

You can drink wine out of canning jars, coffee cups, or the bottle. I was doubtful when I read about how Riedel Wine glasses make the experience of drinking wine more enjoyable. I'm the worlds biggest skeptic.... and to top it off, I very cheap!! I purchased 8 Riedel Cabernet/Bordeaux Wine Glasses from Amazon... I got the free shipping option.... what a bargain, and yes I do enjoy the experience of drinking wine from these fine glasses. I went to a neighbors house and drank wine from a glass that was vastly inferior to the Riedel quality. I definately missed my Riedel wine glasses and now I'm definately a believer.

I was skeptical like everyone else so I put the Riedel glasses to the test...br /Poured some wine into an everyday red wine glass and a Riedel glass. br /The difference is amazing. More aromas more taste to the palate. br /Convince yourself and try it.br /Janet from Huntington Beach, CA
