With a magnetic storage base containing a strong magnet that attaches to a refrigerator door, this cutter quickly, neatly, and safely nips the foil off a wine bottle's neck. It then snaps securely onto the base. Both the cutter and base are made of rugged plastic, and the four stainless-steel roller blades that slice the foil have edges that stay sharp for a long time. The best foil cutter I've used. Quick, easy, and easy to find stuck on the side of the fridge! Great price, too.

Cuts perfectly the first time regardless of the size or shape of the lip at the top of the bottle. I had the older Screwpull and it did well, but would often slip some bottles that didn't have enough of a cutting surface. The Vacu Vin is also smaller and with the magnetic holder, very convenient to store and keep from getting damaged in a drawer.
The Best Foil Cutter Available February 12, 2008
I have been looking for a foil cutter that works well and doesn't break for a long time. I've used the Screwpull ones for years. They are OK; but they always break within about 2-3 years; the pins pop out. I've tried lots of other cutters with even worse results.br /br /This cutter works like a charm, accomodates larger bottles better than the others out there (because of the spring mechanism), keeps an edge on the cutting wheels, and most importantly, doesn't break. It also stores neatly in a holder that attaches to the fridge by magnets -- you never have to search in the drawer for it. This machine rules. We go through a lot of wine at our house (I'll not incriminate myself with numbers!)br /br /Forget all the others, this is the best and at a great price. Enjoy and: A votre sante!

This is, without a doubt, the best foil cutter ever!! I gave one as a gift last year and it's still sharp as ever so I gave two more as gifts this year...
Magnet and small size - stylish cutter July 7, 2007
This is a small, stylish foil cutter. The cutter function works very well with the four blades versus many foil cutters that have two.br /br /I almost gave it a '4 star' rating since I could not remove the magnet and because it is so small. The unit is made up of two pieces as shown on the Amazon site, the foil cutter and base unit. You can keep the cutter itself separate from the base unit. The magnet can't be easily removed from the base unit. If you aren't careful and get the magnet two close to an electronic device our your credit cards you might find them no working as expected.br /br /The size is so small that sometimes when putting it in the base unit it slips out of my fingers.br /br /Even with that it is a great little stylish unit that cuts foil well.
