Thereafter, New Amsterdam acknowledged the public’s vocal demand for the drink by releasing the pink-colored vodka in bottles called “Pink Whitney”. These bottles also feature iconography of Barstool Sports and Spittin’ Chiclets, as well as images of Ryan Whitney’s jersey number and his famous catchphrase “What a Legend.” On September 3rd, 2019, Barstool Sports and New Amsterdam teamed-up and promoted the drink in a campaign that featured video commercials starring Ryan Whitney and Paul Bissonnette (his podcast co-host). The commercials were also released the next month after on NBC Sports to coincide with their new hockey season. Furthermore, the campaign also consisted of advertisements for Spotify and point-of-sale retail locations.
